SELLERS GUIDE

When it's time to sell your pontoon preparation is key to successfully selling your boat and getting the amount you asked. Allpontoons focused approach on floorplan search ensures high traffic connecting you to buyers.

Pontoon & Motor Description

A clear and focused description of your pontoon boat and motor will help attract buyers. Describe pontoon make and model, engine make, horsepower and hours, overall condition, and how it has been kept.  List the options on the boat (bow filler seat, ottoman table, cover condition, etc).  Highlight key performance features that can be optional or standard depending on the make and model (lifting strakes, aluminum underskin, pontoon diameter, etc).

Photos

Photos sell a boat and its condition! Take quality photos that show all sides of the exterior of the boat. You want the Buyer to see the condition of the side panels and rails. Interior Photos need to capture the floorplan first then detail photos 2nd. We recommend taking a photo from the bow looking back and taking a photo from the stern looking forward. Highlight the captains console and chair. Show any other unique features. Taking a photo with the cover on is a great idea to show type of cover and condition. A fourteen picture ad will really allow you to capture exterior condition and performance features and interior floorplan with stand out options and condition.

Trailer

Pontoon boats typically don’t come with a trailer, but it is becoming increasing common to have one. As a seller be sure to list if the trailer is included. Describe make and model. If you are selling without a trailer mention that buyer is responsible for trailer and pick up. If you have a trailer and are planning on keeping the trailer maybe consider listing your pontoon with willing to deliver up to "x" miles away or locally only.

Test Drive

Test drive a pontoon boat? YES! The rise of higher horsepower on pontoons has created more demand for the demo ride. As a seller you want to create confidence to the buyer that this boat runs well and show how well it performs. It helps sell the lifestyle if the buyer is new to pontooning!
